if you're standing at the spawn point, and hover your mouse over the pause button, it should be roughly on the 2nd diamond from the ground.

In act 2 the platform lift (that u use for the skip) doesn't reset to the same position, it depends on where the bottom most lift is when you pause and reset. To get a perfect run (i think sub-6 seconds is possible, maybe not for humans), you need to reset the platform at just the right height.
