I vote no restart, any order, and time end on last cutscene goes to black.
I didn't even think about the fact that there are literally about a 100 cheats, if not more. The only real solution I can think of is getting a "category extension" board, where we have a few main categories for the different types of cheats and then subcategories for each code in their respective category. But there are two problems with this. 1: The Shovel Knight community isn't big enough and there still might be too many codes to account for. So idk really.
I will admit seeing your time on a leaderboard is one of the most satisfying things about speedrunning. And hey, maybe someone will see this and do a run of it and then 'cheat%' will build up from there. But really, who knows.
I've requested something similar to this before, but it was just a general "meme" category. (Things like 'fishing rod%' and 'Pandemonium Cloak%') I'd like to have categories like all the ones we've mentioned in this thread, but I'm not a mod (and I shouldn't be a mod) so idk there's my input.
Yeah no problem! Same time next week?
I'm ready now if that's what you meant.
1: If you mean 3-5 my time, I should be open at around 5 at the latest (I hope.)
2: Yeah. That's just banning poor hitboxes.
I hope it wasn't a problem, but that was me who changed the rules for glitchless (I don't know anything about everything else though). And I agree, time differences would be a problem, but unless some thing else pops up, anytime Friday night would work for me (as of typing this it is about 7:30 so this time tomorrow or later would be fine). Also yeah, I didn't want to say blind because you haven't done anything with Mt. Teacup.
~vlack Why is there an Any% and a NMS subcategory on glitchless and why is your all levels run gone?
Just for the heck of it, you guys want to have an Any% glitchless race sometime in the future?
Ah. My bad. They should be working now.

I think saying "No spike, axe, etc. 'phasing' with the jet hat" will do the job. So completely bypassing/going through a set of spikes or axes with the jet hat will make the run an Any% run instead. So accidentally passing through a spike or two but then turning around to crawl under it the normal way will keep the run glitchless.
So here's what we have as of banned glitches:
-Level skips -Pouncer Skip -Dispawn door glitch -Screen wraps -Fanfare skips
Is there anything else we've missed or are these acceptable rules for a glitchless category?
(Also Cranky you said you wanted to try out the designs I made for the leaderboard but since I haven't seen them up yet, is there something I need to fix?)
I never thought about fanfare skip being like the fake death. In that case, I see why you think it should be banned. Banning poor hitboxes would be incredibly difficult. If you accidentally abuse the hitbox (which could very easily happen) then the run's technically over.
-Ok thanks. Yeah that run was a huge mess, especially since it was on 3DS. Thanks for checking it out.
I think a strawpoll would be a good idea, but due to the fact that the WL1 community is so small we might not get the kind of votes that would determine which are glitches and which aren't. I say vlack's list minus boss fanfare skip is a good list because the glitches he lists take some setup and skip pretty large portions of the game. In my opinion, glitches that save 30 seconds or more should be banned.
So I just submitted a Plague run (and for some reason I called said it was done in 34 minutes, which is insane, then again, it was 2 in the morning) and at one point my camera program crashed and I has to pause the timer for about 45 seconds. (Yes I counted) however, another 15 seconds was added to the final time despite real time. I'm probably missing something so could someone please tell me what that is?
