Here's a quick guide on Zoo Skip. A crazy skip found by Nino that lets you finish the track in under 30 seconds.
The skip is pretty strange and I don't fully understand it so some information in the video might end up being wrong.
Found a skip on Gallaxhar's Space Ship yesterday. This saves around a whopping 2 minutes and is pretty easy to perform. Here's a video showcasing the skip and how to perform it.
I reckon this still has further potential so maybe new methods will arise.
This is the closest thing to an "unintended shortcut" that we have at the moment.
There is a VERY generous respawn in Far Far Away on the rooftop section. In 50cc, It's barely BARELY faster than just taking the normal route. I decided to compare the times as Shrek touches the wall since it's an easier way to measure it and I can't do the turn the exact same every time without TAS.
I haven't tested with 100cc and 150cc, but it's safe to assume that performing this is slower on those speeds because the death animation is always the same length.
Realistically, I don't know if this is worth it, but it's there.
@Icyriver112 Nah there's no replay feature in the game which really sucks. A lot of time trial history will be unseen such as what you said. Huge missed opportunity. I hope they add some kind of way to view and challenge ghosts from other players like in mario kart world.
Hello Myth Makers fans!
If you're interested in running this game. Here's some information you should know when it comes to what console you choose to run on. There are some major differences between the PS2 and Wii versions of the game. I haven't tried or tested the PC version because idk where to get it. Points are labelled with (+) for pros and (-) for cons.
The TL;DR of this is if you want a shorter run, just play the Wii version. The PS2 version is extremely slow.
PS2
- (-) Driving speed is VERY slow
- (-) The loading times are also VERY slow.
- (-) The PS2 version is buggier, and if you mash X on the cup results screen, it will reset the screen and lose you time. However, doing this gives you stars? so unlocking characters is fast like this. This is unconfirmed.
- (+) If you have a special ability unlocked, your character will start the race with one ready to use. The Wii version does not have this. This is only useful for Trixie
- (-) Unlocking 100CC and 150CC requires beating every cup.
- (+) All single races are unlocked
Wii
- (+) Driving speed is very fast. Even 50CC is fast and you need to be careful. 100CC and 150CC are extremely overtuned and hard to control.
- (+) Load times are good.
- (+) Unlocking 100CC and 150CC requires only beating a single cup.
- (-) Characters will not start a race with a special ability item if unlocked.
- (-) Single races have to be unlocked individually one-by-one
Good luck racing!
