Newer players getting into the game just want stick jump gone, but imo, if you’re serious enough about smash, stick jump isn’t inhibitive — you should learn how to utilize it instead.

in general for bonuses we pick the newer versions for newer records especially when those records aren't set yet, 2.0.0 to 2.0.1 dr luigi has nerfed air speed so it's expected for the player to play on 2.0.1 if differences occur

there's alot to tackle but note that it has alot of differences like how japanese version doesn't have a n64 logo when you first boot/resetting the game and there's a japanese text at the bottom making the UI looked sorta squished

japanese also has lower hitlag, like 40% lower and has a frame lower in sdi frames, and higher shield stun than NA, the hitlag frames only matter to BTT and sometimes BTP in bumper situations but BTP is kinda trivial for both NA and J, like pikachu, kirby and a couple of others and fox

PAL is different and that it runs at a lower framerate (from 60 to 50) to match the hertz in their area, aside from the game being slower to match the fps, it also skips like 1 out of 5 frames the game is running, so you get some inputs stitched both on the same frame

also link in AUS is so bad and combine the weird shit in pal makes it worse

vv notice how the timer went from .90 > .93 in one frame instead of .90 > .91 > .93, this makes frame perfect jumps super inconsistent like in link btp after p5 using only a double jump and this clip (i input Z one frame after this clip)

underrated game, people say that it's terrible enough to compare it to brawl but the game is fanstastic to play, melee feels too clunky to control and brawl feels sluggish but 64 is sorta of a middle ground which is pretty good to maneuver with but its far from perfect 1p modes are kinda limited but i think its fun once you speedrun or just get a high score to begin with, heck even i cant beat very hard 1 stock lmfao there's too much wack going on with that mode but again it's kinda lame in terms of content but considering its the first game i think it's ok, vs is pretty fun to play even with tasing (though it takes alot longer to finish)

break the targets and board the platforms are really fun to grind because if you pull off a really hard strat it comes with extreme award but the layout for each character is really unique but when it comes to making new strats it feels like it's too linear for some characters to an extent overall the game is not bad, it carried the entire smash franchise and despite it's flaws (hitstun 0_0) i decided to give it a higher score because it carried the franchise 8/10 (i may be rating this high because i play too much of this game >_>)
