Hey, so as you might've seen there's a new glitch that allows you to beat the game way faster than before so in this post I'll explain how and why it works and also some changes I made to the leaderboards these past days.
Okay so first I verified some runs that were submitted years ago (I hadn't logged into src in ages and it seems like neither has the other moderator of the game) and in one of them I found this new strat to finish the game much faster (Credits to @BSRF). The glitch consists of starting your career in Poland and getting signed by the team "Rende", the thing is that as you might now Rende is an Italian team (Rende Calcio 1968). What ends up happening is that you're playing for an Italian team but the game loads the Polish league instead so you don't get any matches in the entire season allowing you to quickly rush through it, especially if you pick a country that doesn't play any international games (I managed to beat the game in 48s, almost a full minute faster than the previous WR).
As that glitch is quite game-breaking I'm not sure what to do with the leaderboards. For now I'm keeping the existing categories the same and all runs with this strategy will go to the Any% Unrestricted leaderboard but I might change it later, if you have any thoughts on this I'd be glad to read them. For now if you want to try and get the WR my run was literally my first attempt and I messed up a few clicks so it should be quite easy to beat.
On another note, I cleaned up the leaderboard categories a bit, I changed Any% No Contract from being a different category from Any% and made it so the latter is the only main category and inside it there are 2 subcategories, Restricted (Where you can find all runs previously on Any% No Contract) and Unrestricted. I also decided to change difficulties from having separate leaderboards to being a mere annotation on runs since I honestly don't think it's relevant enough to have one leaderboard for each difficulty.
Lastly I've been thinking about what new categories I could add that would be fun to run and not simply clicking fast and retiring. Some of the people in the NSS subreddit already gave me some suggestions but I'm open to getting some more so please if you have any ideas for categories that would be entertaining to run leave them below.
Hey, sorry for the late answer. Yes, you're right, the rules are wrong, when I was added as a verifier there were already some runs on the leaderboards and all of them had been timed using "When the home menu loads after retiring.", so I decided to keep using that point as the end of the run, while I waited for Hako, the only one who can change the rules, to update them. The thing is Hako never actually acknowleadged my messages, and there were already too many runs on the leaderboard to re-time them all, so it just stayed like that until now.

If you want to record for many hours in Xbox you need a capture card. Most runners though stream their runs to twitch and then submit the vod.
-
Most console runners download an app for your phone called "Frame Perfect" which allows you to save times with different splits and all the stuff live split does
@English_Ben I understand that you don't think Console-only leaderboards are a good thing, but I want to clarify that sometimes you don't choose to go on a slower platform, you just go on it because you can't buy a better one, especially in countries of South America where the economic situation ain't the best atm.
I don't mean to sound dramatic (I realized my text kinda does), I just wanted to clarify that point :)
No one has tested it so far, so probably yeah but we're not sure
Hey, In this game called Thief Simulator one of the Moderators hasn't been online for 10 months, and the other one hasn't been online for 25 days but when I tried to contact him through Discord he blocked me (Very disrespectful if u ask me). I submitted a run 23 days ago and It hasn't been verified yet. I'd like if you could try contacting them or, if they don't answer, make me a mod of the game. If I cannot be mod for some reason @OceansCurse is active and I've talked a few times to him in discord, he can be a mod aswell. Thanks in advance
@asphyxia000 Ignore derpeth that's just stupid. DM to my discord Akja#7916, I'll try to optimize your game as much as I can
The autosplitter in Resources also works for golf
Hey, I'm currently practicing to run this, however having a chat to be able to ask things and also say what I know about the game would be nice. Sadly the Discord Invitation appears to be down, or maybe the server was deleted. If someone could invite me to the server or tell me if it was deleted I'd appreciate it
To time yourself in PS4 probably the best thing you can do is downloading an app similar to LiveSplit for Mobile phones, and time yourself there. The chronometer does not have to appear in the recording, so you can just record your screen or stream your game and have your splits on your cellphone to see what time you get.
This is the best app I found to time yourself for Android, I honestly have no idea of how the App Store works so sorry but if you have iOS you'll have to look for an app yourself: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.futuretrostudios.frameperfect
@Alinysco If you just want to know the order of the missions in the run, the tree might be a bit messy, so I'd recommend you to download splits for the category that you want to run and there you'll have the missions/Collectibles in order.
To download splits from someone first you have to download LiveSplit, this is the app that every speedrunner uses to time himself, with this app you can add splits for each mission to know where you can save time, what’s your best possible time, etc. Then, once you downloaded it and opened it you have to do Right-click on LiveSplit > Open splits > From Speedrun.com > Mark the option in the left bottom “Download Empty” > Then type “Grand Theft Auto V” > Search > Click the “+” symbol to the left of “Grand Theft Auto V” > Select the category you wanna run > Choose one of the splits from the people in the leaderboard
However, if you want to know which character can start each mission and that kind of info, the tree in resources is the best option.
Update to my post above. Today @KingBossBob was able to do the savewarp in Xbox One, he used the same method I mentioned above for PS4. I also forgot to mention in my last post that savewarping on console takes longer than PC due to worse hardware, so the route where you savewarp after Daddy's little girl isn't probably worth it on console, instead, you should do the Classic% route where you kill yourself after DLG. The SW after Complications, even though it doesn't save as much time as PC, is worth it.
Yeah, today a guy posted a link with an infected APK of Brawl Stars in one of the forums and we couldn't delete it due to being mods :/
Yes, but only in PlayStation 4, no one has been able to pull it off in Xbox so far. To savewarp in PS4 instead of holding F5/F6/F7 or the button you binded to swap to another character, you have to hold the D-Pad and then move your right stick to the left/right/upwards to switch to Franklin/Trevor/Michael. Post when savewarping in console was first discovered: https://twitter.com/commanderdick/status/1142599041743822848
Nah, for now, you should worry about improving your skills and shaving off time in other ways. If you ever get to a point where you think that your times are pretty well optimized and you can't save much time from other ways you can consider downgrading.
Have a good day!
I sincerely don't know which patch is better. I assume that 1.0 can be better in terms of running, but there are lots of bugs in that version that can end up screwing your experience. Downgrading is also a pain in the ass so it's up to you.
As you may know, the downloading process of GTA V is split, first, you have the shortest download, the one that goes through PlayStation where you can't open the game and you need internet for, and then you have the 2nd download which is much bigger but goes through GTA V where you can open the game (Even though the only thing you see is an image with the downloading percentage) and you don't need internet for. Well, to downgrade first you have to uninstall GTA V and start installing it again, but when you reach the 2nd download you have to disable all kinds of internet connection, this will make the game download the factory version (1.0). When the download is finished you can activate the internet of your console again but, and this is very important, each time that you want to launch the game and it asks you to update, you have to select an option called "Play without connection" or smth like that.
That would be it but as I said is a pain in the ass since you have to reinstall a 70gb game and you can't even play online, but if you have a good internet connection and you don't play much online it may be worth for you to downgrade.
