I'll preface this question with the fact I'm already aware it's only relevant to Blaze and/or Marine, regardless of any other modded characters that might be compatible with the Sol Emeralds – unless of course they provide their own Sol Emeralds, I guess, but to my knowledge no other character does, simply making themselves compatible with Inazuma's RushChars emeralds instead.
With that said, those who play with RushChars know that, once they collect a Sol Emerald, they have it forever as long as RushChars is loaded. They're disabled on Record Attack, but they work just fine on Marathon Mode and any other means of playing the game with these characters, effectively granting a free Super state right from the start regardless of how many Chaos Emeralds you have.
The transformation sequence with these emeralds is a bit lengthy compared to that of a normal Super state, and at least with Blaze, the current best run doesn't collect enough rings for the Sol state to become relevant anyway; it's sufficiently optimized that I doubt a faster run will make use of it either. I haven't seen what the Marine runners are doing, but I suspect it's more of the same.
Sol Emeralds do behave differently from Chaos Emeralds either way, though, so I feel compelled to ask; are they allowed in the full game runs, or do we somehow play these two characters as if we don't have the Sol Emeralds?
Dropdown for character is correct in this instance; the pinned thread answers your question and tells you to do just that. 🙂
You also need to provide a link to the mod character you're using on the SRB2 Addons website – I think SRB2Workshop is also valid, though less commonly used, to the point a lot of the addons you'll see over there are likely out of date compared to their SRB2 Addons releases where applicable – and I don't think Fleetway Super Sonic is in either place, actually... A moderator will have to weigh in on that specific issue. 🤔
