Alright so I wanna make a thread about this because I wanna get other peoples opinion on whether this should be allowed or not.
I managed to find the memory addresses for each button in the CTRL+Y menu.
This game uses Virtual Key values to store and interpret the keys set for each button.
By cycling through keys on one of the buttons and scanning in Cheat Engine for each new value corresponding to the key I set, I was able to find the array for the controls.
I have an AHK v1 script that reads a .ini file that has entries named after the buttons in the CTRL+Y menu that each store a Virtual Key value. Basically the script is programmed to read each Virtual Key value from the .ini file and set the memory address for each button every time you start the game/press F2, which results in the binds changing for each button.
I even made a small program that reads the .ini file and allows you to save your own binds to it very easily instead of searching for the Virtual Key values for your controls and manually typing them in.
This does not rebind your keyboard, if you were to look in the CTRL+Y menu after it sets the values the actual physical binds are changed and are displayed.
This would help with people like me who have a hard time with external keyboard remapping software with this game.
The big problem here is that this is modifying the game's internal memory not only before a run but during a run when you reset the game with F2. It is however ONLY modifying the controls and nothing to do with gameplay but it still falls under the category of memory modification.
I have not used this script even in an attempt yet, I have only tested it because I have serious doubt about it. In a private DM Naloa pretty much confirmed it and told me that this is crossing external tools territory, which I would have to agree. He did say however that other runners such as @LogicPQ should be included in this conversation hence the main reason why I made this post, but I still feel like the answer is pretty obvious.
I would like to know other peoples thoughts about this, and also let me know if you would like me to post the script files here or not.
AutoHotkey has been broken for me for 8 months now, I made a forum post before but I deleted it so I'm going to make another one. So for some reason keys will just stop pressing randomly, or they will hold down literally forever and then the game freezes because as you know in areas like Megaman when you restart it doesn't load the frame until you let go of the inputs, and my jump key does weird stuff like hold down longer then I pressed it or double jump even though I'm holding it down. I have been using ICUE this whole time but the issue is I can't have controls only work if the game is in focus, linked apps in ICUE don't work because the game's .exe file is not the real process name for the game, when you launch the game it unpack into the temp folder into "stdrt.exe" and also a bunch of MMF2 extensions. You can select that exe with ICUE and it works great, but the issue is every time you close the game it deletes that folder and every time you launch it, it creates a new folder with a new name so ICUE can't find it anymore. So that's out of the question, I tried using AHK to check for WinActive and if the window is active then switch profiles on ICUE but ICUE doesn't register any inputs being sent to it by any software... I asked @LogicPQ for his controls and he gave them to me, I used his exact controls, his AHK version and it is still broken... I have a Corsair K70 RGB Pro btw and I'm on Windows 10.
Here's my script, I'm not using WinActive with the class for the game because the game freezes with one of the binds even though it wasn't before: https://www.mediafire.com/file/n8p47zlwabx6l3b/Any%2525_Controls.ahk/file
If someone could help me fix this that would be absolutely amazing! This used to work on my old PC except the game froze sometimes because I had a toggle for Jump & Up, but everything else worked.
Thanks in advance :)
Oh yeah I deleted the post, but a little while ago I posted a new IWBTG Save Editor version and the "Frame Display" actually works now lol, there is 1 bug I have no idea for the life of me how to fix but it still works very good, It has the "Go To Kid" and "Go To First Screen" buttons just like the Boshy save editor, and it functions identically to it. The "Tools" tab is also better, and the "Backup" tab has a detailed list that you can scroll through, and the name of your backups can be a lot longer.
That's all I wanted to say, as I feel that I Wanna Be The Fix was kind of better than this imo, but since the Frame Display is fixed now I think it is way better for precise player placement. And also I Wanna Be The Fix sets your position to a certain spot relative to the coordinates you entered, at least I'm pretty sure, that's what seemed to happen when I used it.
I plan on maybe making a hotkey for the Backup screen as well, since you can edit values while the save is loaded unlike Boshy and Gaiden save editor, you can just replace the save file mid game and restart and it updates, so it would be nice to be able to map backup loads to a hotkey because it would be easy to practice the save hover in the castle, which requires saving obviously so you can't restart back.
So yeah if anyone decides to run this game, then practicing is a lot easier now lol.
Have a good one! :D

So I managed to get the Boshy source code that I decompiled a few years ago to fully load without any missing frames!
Here's how I did it:
So first you need Clickteam Fusion, MMF2 might work, depends on what the game was last compiled on which I believe was Clickteam Fusion, the games development was started in MMF2 however.
I'm using Clickteam Fusion Developer 2.5+ (Build R293.10) any version probably works fine though as long as it's not super super old, I'm not 100% sure though xD.
The reason why it never loads properly is because of missing extensions, so I'm going to list all the extensions you need how to get them.
In the Fusion UI, hover the cursor over "View" at the top and click on "Extension Manager" and than click on the search bar and search and install all these extensions:
(All of these or some might already be installed, I'm not sure but check anyways)
Color Selector
Control X object
Fast Loop Object
File-Folder object
ForEach
Key Object
Lacewing Relay Client
Mouse Object
Open URLs Object
Parallaxer
Perspective Object
Popup Message Object 2
Random Pool
String Parser
Text Blitter
Timer Object
Viewport
Yaso object
That's all the extensions that you can install straight from the extension manager, but there are still some other extensions that must be installed manually, follow these instructions exactly:
Unzip the downloaded file below and open the folder named "Extension Files" and drag all the contents into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Clickteam Fusion Developer 2.5"
Next, Open the folder named "Extension Installers" and double click on "Overlay Redux.exe" and proceed by installing it.
Download it all here:
If you don't already have it then download the Boshy source code from:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/czocextus1mj1m4/Boshy_Source_Code.zip/file
Here's a list of all the extensions used by the game: https://imgur.com/a/NZojt7J
Hopefully some cool stuff comes from this.
Enjoy everyone! I'm glad I was able to finally get this going for everyone :D
How To Use:
To use the Auto Splitter, right click LiveSplit -> "Edit Splits" and click on "Activate" in the Auto Splitter section, and than click "Settings", and change the route, there is also other settings.
This Auto Splitter works on both the (Frame Skip), and (Slo Mo) versions of the game.
This Auto Splitter starts the run when "New Game" is selected from the save select screen, and splits on all 6 boss orbs.
Accidental resets can happen depending on controls whether "New Game" gets accidentally selected or not, resets can always be toggled in the settings.
Because every player goes through the game in many different orders, Every single route possible is available.
Routes:
Any% No Major Glitches Route 1: Mike Tyson, Mecha Birdo, Dracula, Kraidgief, Wily and Mother Brain.
Any% No Major Glitches Route 2: Mike Tyson, Mecha Birdo, Dracula, Kraidgief, Mother Brain and Wily.
Any% No Major Glitches Route 3: Kraidgief, Mother Brain, Wily, Dracula, Mike Tyson and Mecha Birdo.
Any% No Major Glitches Route 4: Kraidgief, Wily, Dracula, Mother Brain, Mike Tyson and Mecha Birdo.
Any% No Major Glitches Route 5: Kraidgief, Mother Brain, Mike Tyson, Mecha Birdo, Dracula and Wily.
Any% Glitches Route: Kraidgief, Mother Brain, Wily, Dracula, Mike Tyson and Mecha Birdo.
There is an expandable box called "Splits" where different split settings can be enabled. There is tenshots's Dragon split that triggers when entering The Entrance Of The Guy, Tesivonius Dragon split that triggers when the dragon flies into the wall, and Bogan and LogicPQ's split timings.
In the settings there is a no Mother Brain split setting for Regular Any% runs which can be toggled, a 10000km split setting, and a split setting for entering the final boss room, where tenshots splits, and they all work together.
So I know the instant unhook glitch can be very annoying but there is actually a way around it believe it or not.
So the instant unhook glitch happens when a grapple connects while you are holding jump and your previous grapple was released from anything besides jump (Down, Hitting a wall etc). This also happens after restarting or entering a level when your previous grapple was released with anything other than jump or if it wasn't released at all. And also after an instant unhook happens once it's impossible for it to happen on the next grapple, no matter if you hold jump when the grapple connects or not.
So as long as you release jump before your grapple connects you should be able to prevent instant unhooking every time.
There are some cases where an instant unhook can happen no matter what, like in stage 3 on the second screen when you grapple the first appearing block to swing over to the middle one. That is just you hitting the floor and getting stopped.
Anyways I hope this helps.
I made a program for the community that can edit i wanna be the guy's save files.
Just like Boshy and Gaiden save editor this program is designed to be able to edit the save files of i wanna be the guy.
Updates will come out for this program as I work on it in the future!

Wow! so I just managed to decompile Boshy and get the source code using anaconda-mode4 and here it is: https://www.mediafire.com/file/czocextus1mj1m4/Boshy_Source_Code.zip/file
It is missing a few frames as it will say that when you open it in Clickteam Fusion but it still opens and wow, it is amazing to finally see!!!!
