for some reason, in any of the ship levels, sometimes when i stop moving my mouse, the camera keeps moving. if i switched to the controller for these levels (still only using one character), would this be considered 1p1c?

In 1p2c in this instance the "c" stands for "character" more than "controller". If you play with only one character dropped in, even if you switch the input devices like you can do in this game, it will be considered 1p1c. If you drop-in the second player and gain advantage from it, it would be considered 1p2c.
