Official "The Secret of Monkey Island" Demo

Monkey Island Demo

MT32 required disk09 patch

Roland and Adlib for EGA Floppy

Roland and AdLib Patch for VGA Floppy

## Installation

On Linux, compile it with:

```
g++ monkey_island_seed_finder.cpp -o monkey_island_seed_finder
```

Then run it with:

```
./monkey_island_seed_finder
```

For a list of available options, run:

```
./monkey_island_seed_finder --help
```

I've no idea how to compile it and run it on other platforms. I guess any C++ compiler will do.

## Examples

To print every seed that gives you the fastest possible rooms 2 to 5, run:

```
./monkey_island_seed_finder --fast-middle-rooms --all-seeds
```

You can check a specific seed. To do so, use --only, like so:

```
./monkey_island_seed_finder --only 1095696648
```

To print a seed that works if you save immediately before entering the store:

```
./monkey_island_seed_finder --max-frames-from-store 1 --credit-early-frames 3
```

## Useful seeds

The fastest_catacombs_seeds.txt file contains seeds that give you at least 4 frames of credit early and the fastest possible catacombs.

Similarly, the easiest_catacombs_seeds.txt file contains seeds that give you at least 4 frames of credit early and the easiest possible catacombs. These are like the fastest possible catacombs except that the last room is slower. This way you can avoid accidentally holding Enter for too long.

## More information

For an explanation of how the RNG works and images of all the possible screens, check the [catacombs RNG guide](https://www.speedrun.com/tsomi/guides/hw8us).
