This game exists under a couple of different names depending on the regions: EU: Total Drivin NA: Car & Driver presents: Grand Tour Racing '98 JP: Gekisou!! Grand Racing FR: M6 Turbo Racing

In my understanding, all versions are just different localizations of the same game with only minor differences. Differences are listed in the GTR98 wiki here: https://gtr98.wordpress.com/2014/01/01/about-total-drivin-m6-turbo-racing/

I added the game to SRcom under the European name for a number of reasons, but as of now I consider each version to be the same game and are therefore all accepted for this leaderboard. However, I only own the European version and I don't know how much these minor differences affect the run. Should the need come up in the future, we can discuss possibly splitting the leaderboards between versions, either by subcategories, or by requesting the other versions as their own game on the site

We just got the first submission on the NTSC NA version of the game. The NTSC version benefits from a faster run speed, which affects both real time and ingame time and therefore has a very obvious advantage in both full game and individual level runs.

I think it would be best to separate the leaderboards between PAL and NTSC, however, I will hold off on doing that for the time being. This is because we have very few runs submitted at the moment, and you can see at one glance which runs were done on which version. Creating a leaderboard separation would cause existing runs to be separated off into a different tab, essentially hiding them from default view. This to me seems counterproductive to the idea of having a leaderboard that's fair and accessible for everyone. Once more runs are submitted though, I think this leaderboard split should be introduced to ensure everyone can continue playing on their preferred version and still have fair competition.

Its good having everyones runs on the main page. Giving visibilty to everyone. Its a bit annoying that you cant set in up with both versions on screen without putting them in separate tabs. I would be happy to split the two versions up if it comes to that in the future.
