When I took over moderation of GRWL, I made all old runs into Legacy. Legacy was made for a combination of reasons. The two main reasons of splitting the runs to "new" and Legacy was for verification integrity (lack of proper rules and guidelines) that made it so I could not fully trust the old verifications. Then the other problem was the barrier of entry because of loot box items, which one of the goals was to make it easier to enter. So combined that the easiest course of action was to split the "new" and the "old" into Legacy. But because of the new update (Last Rites) which made it so all new players can have access to vehicles and equipment, there is no real reason to keep the categories separate.

The idea is now to merge the categories (legacy and "normal"). But as a personal opinion I believe equipment/vehicles ruins a lot of the skill expression/pathing, so I will make a new subcategory for equipment/vehicles (on or off). The subcategory equipment/vehicles on, will be the main/showcase side and the equipment/vehicles off will be as secondary.

Because of both stricter rules and the removal of menu pausing, all older runs are going to need to be re-verified. But because all runs with menu pausing will after verification have longer times and some runs may not pass verification, we will keep and re-do Legacy to Archive. Archive will be exactly the same as the legacy is now, but there will be no new runs. Then because we both have Archives and (normal re-verified old runs) we are going to have 1 run on 2 locations. So with other words I will make "new" runs with the old legacy runs so we got duplicates. The duplicates will have Archive tag on them so we know they come from and changed time that goes in hand with the "no menu pausing" rule, but the original will still stay in Archive.

Then the question arise, what are your guys thoughts about this? Then in the midst of this, Region/level runs can be run in both 100% and any%. So the question is, if we should make another subcategory for 100% and any% in level/region runs. Its going to be messy, but older runs did not have these rules so I don't know if those runs were runed in both 100% and Any% or just any%.

Then I wanna add, my intention from the start was never about discredit or discard old runs. I just saw one path forward, that's what I took to get some structure in this leader board. But now we can actually merge them and get a proper leader board going
