Hello, so most of you might know that Rec room has just announced that they will be shutting their game down. A bunch of post by the devs have been made to back up this claim as far as we know of. This announcement about the shut down has been made a bit before April 1st/April fools day so possibly this could be a joke. I’m not 100% certain on it and heck I did make a bet on it but I’m not too worried about that at the moment.

I do want to state it is very sad that the game is ending. The game has had A LOT of ups and downs for the speedrunning community. The reason why we’re all still here is because even though some parts of the game sucked and made playing super hard was because deep down we all still enjoyed what we had with it. It might’ve screwed some of our runs from an updated, made changes that made it impossible to compete like we used to and didn’t bother to keep track of its older and most popular played games. But it was great at one point.There’s no denying the that when we all started this game we hated it. The only reason we played was because there was something that made us come back to rec room. It might be the end but at least if it goes down we’ll all have something good to remember it bye. If it’s not from speedrunning then it’ll at least be from creating, playing some of the off brand roblox games or even from making the friends along the way. We couldn’t just say we hated the game and we wished to never come back if we kept playing it. But, all that matters is at least we were able to experience it.

Which now brings me to what is going to happen to this page. If the game does shut down we don’t know how we will maintain anything on here. Most likely it will result in an unplayable page which could result to the deletion of the page or an entire page wipe. There are older versions of the game that I believe will still be playable after the shut down but we’re unsure about it. We will try to leave this page up as long as possible and maybe in the glimps of hope we have the game doesn’t shut down and everything will remain as is. But, in the meantime we will be discussing what to do if this does fall through.

Thankyou all for playing. I might not be a dev of rec room but I enjoyed being a super moderator of the rec room speedrun page. I’ve learned a lot about speedrunning and learned how to maintain speedrun pages. I would’ve been the person or YouTuber or speedrunner I am today if it wasn’t for this game. I have made choices that were hard and upset people in this community. Some of which I wish I never made. But I what I did was to keep this page as fair as possible to all of you. And to hopefully make it so everyone had a chance to speedrun and everyone could compete with one another. I Thankyou all for being apart of this community and hope to see you all around somewhere.

P.S. this was my favorite custom rec room game to speedrun of all time. Not only was it fun to speedrun the game itself had so much to it. There was so much to explore, puzzles to solve, jumpscares to experience and a lot of lore to figure out. This rr game honestly deserves its own game. The devs who made this doesn’t need rec room to make their game what it was. It was well thought out and great to play. If it ever became an official game on steam or ps or Xbox or switch or whatever I would be the first to buy it. And the fact that rr is shutting down make this big game nothing now makes it very sad to see it go.

The New TBAS update has just been released bringing a revamped and ultimately easier and less confusing level 05, I will be talking about the levels new features in this post so get to reading. -Level 05 Moves the elevator slightly further down the hall and don't worry the level 05 elevator glitch is still possible. -The basement area has been shortened to one room with the key in plain sight. -No need to climb the ladder, you know go up it automatically. -The code for the door is no longer needed, you just "override" it. -The exit door is down a dark hallway, lit up with a dim red light. There is sadly no update to level 04, and the moderators will be figuring on what to do about the older speedruns when the game is fully finished, as some of those speedruns may be impossible or unfair because of the new and most of the time longer levels.

-The latest news today is the discord server being easily accessible by just going right next to the logo you find the discord button , making it a lot more easy to find. -In other news kidnap% rules have been tweaked to make it a lot more clearer for runners who want to run it. -Finally, the new moderator VoidCloaker (Me, who is making the post).

Level 02 and Level 03 were changed on March 13th, 2023. They are now updated and more realistic/complex. Level 02 is completely different and Level 03 is very simaliar, but still different in some ways.
