Hello, I was wondering if it's possible to create a no kill category?
so yes at it say it would be a run without any kill (except when it's obligated : when you got to kill nikoladze at the end of the game)
Hi there!
Could you please summarize a ruleset for us so we know what exactly the category would look like? Once you can provide us a completed speedrun, we can add the category as a miscellaneous category.
Thanks!
general rules :
- Complete the game as fast as possible without killing a single ennemy (except at the really end of the game, when the game force you to kill nikoladze)
- Knocking out ennemy is allowed
-
Reverting into the previous save after causing the death of an ennemy is allowed
-
The use of segmentation is banned
Timing rules :
- Timing starts on selecting “Yes” in the main menu on the “Are you sure you want to continue without saving?” dialogue. OR after "Continue" if you did save the first file.
- Timing ends on the black screen just before the last Presidential Palace cutscene after touching the door on that level. For this, we recommend choosing “No” on “Do you want to save the game?” and then “Yes” on “Are you sure you want to continue without saving?” to go as fast as possible.
Hello!
Here's an update on the current state of things: There have been requests for more niche categories over the years but if we added all of them, the main leaderboards would feel overcrowded, which we want to avoid.
I was appointed as a series moderator today and there are plans to add a "Category Extensions" page for all Splinter Cell games. Basically a SRC page for more niche or less serious Splinter Cell speedrun categories.
All of this will take a lot of planning. Especially since the moderators (including me) are quite busy these days. For that, I apologize. It will take a bit of time before we implement the changes but rest assured that we are working on it! Any% No Kill will be added as an extension category in due time. Thank you for your understanding!
Hey, VR_PLAN! I am truly sorry that there have been no news after such a long time. Most of the mods have been really busy these days. We have very recently started to improve the leaderboard structure for all Splinter Cell games in order to have more consistency and clarity throughout the series. We have finished Essentials now and are working on Conviction right now. This is a priority for now and after that is done, we want to add the category extensions page. I unfortunately cannot give you an ETA for when that is happening. I personally have been very busy so I am not really involved in this whole process outside of sharing some advice and opinions. I will let the more active mods know that they should contact you once the category extensions page opens and nokill% gets added.
Once again, my apologies for the radio silence. I know how frustrating this is but I hope the restructuring work wraps up sooner rather than later.
Hello man, no worry and thank you for your explanations, I've already waited so I can still wait, nothing's hurry! take care of you
The moderation team has introduced a new category - Any% Single Segment. It is now available on the board and is open for submissions.
Simply put, standard Any% rules apply, with an additional provision prohibiting any loading/reverting to a previous save. This includes
