Are barrels considered weapons? As in, would they be legal for a no weapons run?

I would consider them as weapons just for the fact that you aren't bare handed.

Also, they can make damage.

my question is if you can go and set up barrels in places as platforms before starting a time trial, and dont pick any up during the run, is it still weaponless?

What if I drop the barrel before I hit the start block, meaning I was never holding it during the run? Also, what if the same scenario was with a weapon like the katana or nizeh, and I drop it before the timer starts, is it still considered no weapons?

i think using them in any way could be against the rules because the no weapon should be completely vanilla
