Hello, I’m thinking about speedrunning this game/games, but I want to pick up a modern 6 button Genesis controller, since playing with the pro controller is less than ideal, & the Genesis controller will always feel right for me.

(& also I own the Switch version of Origins Plus)

The question is, is the 8bitdo M30 controller legal to use in real time runs? Because I know it has a turbo button, which I would think would probably be banned. I read somewhere that the turbo button is remapped to ss for the switch, & that you can’t use the turbo feature, though I don’t remember where I saw it from.

& if it is banned, then does anyone know any alternatives? I’ve heard many people say the officially licensed wireless Sega Saturn controller is good, but I’m more skeptical because of the brand itself. Thank you so much, & I appreciate your help!

Any third-party controller is allowed; do not use features that can have advantages over official controllers like Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation.
