Hi there! I was wondering: if Nintendo adds Super Mario Sunshine to Nintendo Switch Online for the Nintendo Switch 2, would a new subcategory be created for those who want to run the game on that platform? Also, what potential restrictions might be put in place if that happens?
I'm wondering if maybe it would make more sense to change the categories from "GCN" and "3DAS" to "SD" and "HD" instead.
"SD" would be for the original 2002 release of the game (whether you are playing it on GC or Wii) and "HD" would the two HD re-releases (3DAS and NSO).
I just have to imagine that the NSO version would be basically identical to the 3DAS version. And at that point I don't think there would be a need to separate them on the leaderboard.
But, it's hard to say when the NSO version doesn't actually exist yet.
When the game does come to NSO it should have its own leaderboard like Luigi’s Mansion that’s all I’m saying
I agree with you crazy dog, that’s what we did for Luigi’s Mansion. I’m trying to get Wario World boards to do the same. It just makes sense
Hey, the moderators have discussed sorting the game in the future and it will very likely be what Crazy_Dog says, where we will have it sorted as GCN/3DAS/NSO.
A short update announcement, now that LiveSplit supports 3 decimal places, we updated the offset on the Speedrun.com rules to be accurate. The new offsets are:
- Peach File: 2:30.350 (For 50 Hz, use 2:30.380)
- Hacked File: 5:40.407 (For 50 Hz, use 5:40.480)
