Hey im just starting out speedrunningand i choose smb 3 to start off with. Can anyone suggest a category to start with?
Don't listen to them, the short categories are complete garbage and will only teach you the least interesting aspects of the game. If you're actually interested in running the game, warpless is a great starting point. You can get a time around 1h relatively quickly by doing easier strats (that you can always update later on etc). It's honestly easier to pick up than people would think, even with that length. As long as you have a general idea of where to use big items (hammers, clouds & pwings), you'll be going fast in it in no time. And more importantly, it's way more fun than any% or any% no WW.
any% no WW in particular is the worst, half autoscrollers & luck. any% is a fun meme for people who want to hit & run the game.
