I decided to take a small break from doing SMB2J Any% WR attempts by doing some SMB1 MWE WR Attempts instead, and on the very first attempt I got a 2:30.2XX. The -3 clip in this was a little slow, but it was still good enough for me to get the .2 by a single frame. I do plan on continuing to do MWE WR attempts sometime soon, however with the SMB1 event at the SoCal Gaming Expo coming up in just a couple of weeks, I need to focus on that more.
