Hey guys. I've been added as a moderator recently and wanted to make this post as the board has gone through some changes in the past few days.
First off, timing method has now switched from Real Time (RTA) to In-Game Time (IGT). After doing some testing, I found out some emulator runs didn't have a problem with disc loading on regular Dolphin 5.0 rather than what would generally happen on real hardware or Dolphin 5.0 developer build. This made a roughly 3-4 second advantage RTA wise after the 4th match for those runs compared to other runners. So instead of removing those runs and to keep things fair across all runners, IGT became the primary timing method. (If you are curious, here's a video showing the difference. On the left is Dolphin 5.0 and on the right is real hardware/Dolphin dev. build).
Also, because of IGT being the main timing method, runs that were already verified on the board beforehand that do not have video proof anymore and cannot be retimed, or the timer isn't that visible on the videos themselves are kept on the boards and grandfathered for leaderboard accuracy as well as some being formers world records, with only their RTA times as their only time visible on the board.
Speaking of keeping things fair, Wii and PS2 versions of runs are separated mainly due to the PS2 version not having the minigames which makes it 6-6.5 seconds faster IGT wise compared to the Wii version. As for All Missions, it is split for now but if there aren't any major changes, both platforms would just be competed together for that category.
That is all for now that has changed in the leaderboard and there may be more in the future if needed. And thank you to Snookums for adding me as a mod for the board. Happy running! -Crow đ
