Hello, I have a concern regarding the verification process for speedruns in this game. Every time someone submits their runs, the moderators take more than a week to verify them. What is going on?
I have experience with other games, and the waiting time usually has not been this long. If someone could kindly answer my question, I would really appreciate it, because I know of other cases where the same thing happens.
The runs take too long to get verified, and because of that, it hurts the experience and disrupts the momentum for dedicated speedrunners who want to upload their runs to the platform.
I am currently the only one verifying runs as everyone's been kinda busy lately, and i am as well busy, that's why it takes longer to verify runs, and will be a normal rythm again in a few weeks
I agree with Vandru's point. Waiting over a week for run verifications is not the usual standard, and it can disrupt the momentum for active runners. This is definitely an area where things could be improved, and allowing someone who is willing to volunteer to join the moderation team would be a great way to keep the leaderboard active and healthy for everyone.
It took an entire month to verify a very old PB. I’m not sure if the whole "super mod" thing is just a way of saying that nobody can apply to become a moderator, but the current situation is far from ideal for the community.
This affects all of us, especially those of us who are actively trying to bring more people into SM64 speedrunning. This version is much more accessible to new players, and long verification times only make it harder to maintain interest and keep the community growing.
You just need to give me time, and it will get back to normal before july, it's not just about being busy there, it's about health, and getting spammed by multiple persons to do something doesn't help, your runs will get verified, as they should, like for every runs of this game, and it won't take long anymore in just a few weeks, be patient, i was verifing runs as soon as they were posted before, it's not that i can't do that in general, it's that i can't do that in the current condition
Chiara, I'm not blaming you or expecting you to do all the work. I know you all work as a team, but it doesn't seem fair that you're the only one carrying the responsibility of verifying every run.
That's why I'm suggesting that I could help with the verification process. I'd be happy to work alongside you to review runs, reduce the backlog, and keep submissions flowing more smoothly for everyone.
After discussing this with the mod team, we decided to add this new rule to the SM64 Coop Leaderboard :
- You MUST post your run on Youtube/Twitch or any websites that has an automatic preview on Speedrun.com. If it displays a link instead, the run will be rejected. This makes verifications easier
