I honestly cannot understand what I'm doing wrong. I consistently require about 2-5 minutes to get past the 50 star door, and I've been practicing for a couple hours every day. I've shown next to no improvement, so I'm concluding that I must be doing something wrong.

I always spam as fast as I can, which according to this () "spam speed" test is around 10.3 times per second (300 presses in 29 seconds). This felt like the exact same speed I am spamming the A button when trying to BLJ.

I must be doing something horribly wrong, considering I see runners hit it first try every time. Am I spamming too fast? Too slow? Is my alignment off? Am I starting at the wrong spot?

I am in no way an expert, but the camera I use is mario c-down. That way the camera is start and you can get perfectly aligned. Just hold straight up and down and do the bljs. Like I said I'm not an expert but practicing for hours on end is probably not worth your time.

10.3 wow, you should be able to do them, you probably just have a bad angle

weegee's method is quite good, i can usually grt the blj in the first 2 trys. maybe try this

You definitely wanna use Mario cam + C-Down for the camera angle and always start the blj at the bottom of the stairs to have a higher chance of getting it going

Another thing is to not start spamming as soon as Mario is in the air, you wanna start mashing A right as he starts touching the ground so he gets caught between the stairs and the blj starts to pick up speed

And if you get a good amount of speed but are stuck at the door keep doing blj's at the door cause you might clip through the wall
