The emulator rules are made not for accuracy but for consistency. Nearly (if not all) emulators have some difference in them that can lead to saving or losing time. So the mods picked a few that are similar in order to make the leaderboards fair
I think the emu rules need to be rewritten as they are a little confusing it. It lists what specific versions to use, but it also suggests to update to the newest version due to potential execution of arbitrary code found in older versions. Are runs on updated Rosalie viable for submission or? Also does Dolphin WII VC emulation have a section or do they group that with VC
The allowed emulators list shows what version can be used - if there is a + next to it, you can use any updated version beyond the minimum version listed. So:
- Rosalie's Mupen GUI v0.5.x+
Means that you can use any version of RMG as long as it's v0.5.x and up.
