Althought it's definitely be a hassle to retime every single run (especially since Time Trials are the most popular category), I feel like timing them in realtime would be better, since it allows for runs that are technically faster to be above other runs. It also allows people to submit run improvments that arent by whole second increments, as most people usually stop as soon as they get past another second increment. Doesn't really matter too mcuh in the long run, but I feel that its something that should be considered.
I think it's fine as is, the "only able to improve by one second" thing is definitely annoying but plenty of games have rich IL competitions (Goldeneye 007/Perfect Dark, NSMBW) despite only being able to improve by one second. Using real time would also probably making doing TTs way less popular in the long run.
Also, I don't want to be put at a disadvantage because of my kinda crappy laptop
Rayman Origins Individual Level (IL) Leaderboards are now open! You can find them at:
Make sure to read all the rules to ensure your ILs comply with them if you plan to submit.
Have fun grinding!
