is using a ps3 to run the ps2 disc of the game allowed?
question in title cause i got a backwards compatible ps3 if allowed should i submit my run as a ps3 platform or ps2

It's completely allowed! There is an option for backwards-compatible PS3 when you submit. I assume the run would play more like ps2 rather than ps3, so expect the Orxon 1 tree clip to not work, and the pyro glitch will definitely not work.
