Had been meaning to do this run for SO long but kept putting it off. Decided it was finally time and after a bit of a grind, got the WR!
I had a rough plan going into this run, thinking I just had to stay on score pace and it'd be fun, squeeze each level for score and it'll be okay. It actually turned out harder than I thought since you are balancing score pace with speedrun pace. 2 different sides of your brain that have to work simultaneously. I did an initial run and realised I was not on pace for sub-2:00:00 be the middle so rushed through parts of the 2nd half and ended up not even getting 40 million by the end.
This run was much better as I had a better idea of what to expect. I pretty much squeezed out as much score as I could on levels that are good for freeballing, or just doing intentional shots for score like with high multiplier, then speedrunning through levels that are effort for points (e.g. kat levels) or just bailing on levels that I'm putting myself at risk of losing if I try to squeeze score. Worked out and managed to get sub-2:00:00 and beat the world record!
Overall, a really interesting run to speedrun for a good time. Fair bit of mental effort compared to the usual peggle unga-bunga-ing.
