Is it important to match every checkpoint in the game?
Unlike Outlast 1 and the DLC, you must hit every checkpoint in order or the game will read a checkpoint error and kill you at the next major checkpoint.
This makes basically any major skip impossible.

It is, otherwise playing on insane would be what we do in any%. Run would be like 40 minutes shorter
