Hello, I am interested in speed running on my N64. My question is, if I use the N64, do I have to use an original N64 controller? Or can I use a third party controller? I am talking about the third party controller in the picture. It does not have turbo, it is an exact replica of the original controller except the joystick is much more sturdy. Is this acceptable? Or must I use an original N64 Nintendo brand controller?

P.S. I would have asked this in the discord, but when I try to join by clicking the link, it says the link has expired so I cannot access the discord at all.

You do not have to use an original controller, that controller looks perfectly fine. If you click "Show rules" on any of the leaderboard pages and scroll down through the game rules, you'll find a section detailing our controller rules. Generally though as long as your controller isn't adding any crazy features like turbo or macros you're fine.

That's odd that you're not able to join the discord, did you try both the link from the Discord button and the link from the pinned forum post? Both seem to prompt me to join when I click them, and I can see they're both still active looking through our list of invites.
