I want to time a playthrough from 1-1 to DK Final Battle (normal mode). I just want to make sure before I submit an incorrect time after playing for what feels like forever. Do we start right when an empty file is tapped (game begins), or do we start timing when we press the first level?

The rules for Any% say that you start timing when you select a new save file.

Also, submitting an incorrect time isn’t a super big deal. The mods should check the time for your run anyway.
