Segmented Runs?

Can I segment runs and edit them into one big video and/or link the multiple segments?

The integrity of the submission comes into question at some point, From my experience a MW5 run is very RNG orientated, So any manipulation of runs by slicing 2 or 3 together will need to be monitored.

Reaching out to the admin and asking them to create a 2nd catagory could also be an option, The MW5 run is pretty long, So we should try anything that makes it more accessible.

Yeah, I can understand that. I personally don't like segmenting runs, so I'd probably myself may eventually do an all-in-one stream/recording for this game, but I also wanna try the co-op speedrun boards for this game; however I don't think I could find multiple people who'd be free for 10+ hours all at once.

If you want to do a segmented run, I would ask that your inventory and settings be shown in a continuous video and that you save and load on the same screen for timing purposes. Then you make a video of just the parts that are timed and another with the verification that can be timed to match the other. As the runs are in the... Hours... A second or so of discrepancy for each segment would be anticipated.

Things that need shown: Settings screen, mech bay/inventory, component inventory, pilot roster. A slow scroll off each would be enough.

Timed runs would then be verified by watching the 'uncut' version and timing it to match the segmented run.

I can understand this. It's just more so the previously mentioned case of I don't think I could find two (2) or more people free for 10+ hours all on one day so if/when I attempt this with a group I'll make sure to keep what you said here in mind if that works for you so we can do segment runs.

I have a question, why not just check the c-bills? You can't do anything (travel, inventory, mechlab) in the game without spending money so it would be a solid check for alterations between segments. Been practicing and got a segmented time down to 9:14:10 on Easy Windows with no mods.

Settings can be changed without C-Bills showing any change, So the settings check is required to make sure nothing is changed, You could probably get away with just settings and inv screen at every segment there is a break, Any changes to pilot roster or Component's will show in a change of C-Bill's as you stated.

In the end its up to the admin though, And if they want a pilot check on cuts, Its not that hard to flip to another screen a couple of times a run, Most people have the run between 8 - 9 hours, So its safe to assume there will only be a couple of cuts for every run.

I'm sure if we can eventually get away with segmented runs the mods may be appreciative of it in a way because chopped up video is probably easier to digest than a video that's gonna be 13+ hours long given how long this game is.
