Not sure if this is the right place to put this type of forum, im just wondering if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it, it gives me an error message everytime I open it on these versions. (im want to use these versions for eg. first to obtain diamond or herobrines return)

happen to me too, i just used another options folder, not sure if i am capable on explaining how to do it

You must delate options.txt in your Minecraft folder

you can also run pre 1.6 by creating another installation directory.
