We're now needing to make a final decision on how to handle Switch 1 and Switch 2 runs on the leaderboards. The realistic options are either A) have both S1 and S2 runs combined on a single leaderboard, or B) to split the leaderboard into separate subcategories for each console.

A combined leaderboard makes runs more visible, and make the leaderboards easier to manage, but it gives a time advantage to anyone who has a Switch 2. A split leaderboard is more fair, but will result in runs on the secondary console's leaderboard receiving much less attention. If we split the leaderboard, we will also need to decide whether S1 or S2 is the main leaderboard.

With more S2 runs having been completed since a month ago, there are more accurate measurements of the loading differences between consoles. Some categories still have limited or no data due to lack of runs, but there should be enough to make an informed decision. There is no loading difference between the S1 and S2 versions of Jamboree when running on a Switch 2.

• Super Challenge Road: 2:00 difference (S1: 5:30, S2: 3:30)

Limited Data:

• Jamboree All Boards: 4:00-5:00 difference (S1: 9:00-13:00, S2: 5:00-8:00)
• Superstars All Boards: 0:10-0:30 difference (S1: 1:55-2:15, S2: ~1:45)
• Superstars All Minigames: 1:00 difference (S1: 3:45, S2: 2:45)

No Runs:

• Jamboree All Winnable Minigames
• Super All Boards

It would be best to have the same decision across all the Switch MP games, but if one game's community feels differently to the others, we can handle them differently.

For now, this is a discussion, not a vote. Input is welcomed from anyone, however the opinions of Switch game runners will be considered more strongly. If we can achieve a consensus through discussion, then we can implement whatever is chosen, and if the community is split, we can take it to a formal vote.
