Hello moderators and everyone,
I would like to propose two new short-form categories to bring more variety to the leaderboard. Since the 9 and 23 Phases can be quite long, these 4-Phase categories will be great for quick attempts and highly accessible for everyone.
1. 4 Phases
-
Time starts: When Mario appears on screen on Phase 1.
-
Time ends: When you collect the final coin on Phase 4.
-
Platforms: Runs done on console (GBA, GBA SP, Gameboy Micro, Gameboy Player, Gameboy Interface, DS, Wii U VC, or 3DS VC) go here.
-
Proof of concept: I have already submitted my individual runs for Phase 1 to Phase 4 (currently pending). You can also see my run videos via the Google Drive link on my profile (https://x.gd/x4bwS).
2. 4 Phases (Low%)
-
Time starts: When Mario appears on screen on Phase 1.
-
Time ends: The exact moment the timer hits "00:0" on the Phase 4 Bonus Stage.
-
Core Rule: Using the POW block is strictly banned.
-
Condition for Verification: The final score after Phase 4 must be exactly 10530 (the theoretical minimum score based on 13 required enemies: 810 points each). Any run with a score other than 10530 will be rejected.
-
Platforms: Same as above.
I believe these short but highly precise categories will provide fresh challenges for both new and veteran runners.
Please let me know what you think about these ideas! Thank you for considering my proposal and checking my pending runs.
No new categories will be added, at least nothing shorter than the already rather short 9 Phases category. Also I'd like to request you upload your runs elsewhere (like YouTube) as I can't accurately check the times for myself on videos uploaded to Google Drive
Thank you for the reply and for clarifying the category policy. I understand!
Since I am a minor, I need to consult with my parents before creating a YouTube or Twitch account. It might take some time to set things up, so please don't worry about my pending runs for now. Once I have the video environment ready, I will update the links. Thanks again!
