I'm going to try a speedrun attempt on the Nintendo Switch. I believe it will take me 18-19 hours of play time. This will be my first submitted speed run, so I wanted to ensure I knew the rules before I gave it a try.

Do I need to complete all collections? Buy all the brooms, buy all the conjurations from the vendor in Hogsmeade, etc?

If so, there are two enemies and three appearances that I believe are not available on the Nintendo Switch version, so my collections will show 67/69 and 92/95 for those. Is that an issue?

Also, any recommendations on how best to officially time and record a run on a Switch would be appreciated. With an 18 hour goal, I believe I can take a full night's sleep, 5 min break every 2 hours, etc. Any additional clarifying information there is also appreciated.

18h or 19h is extremely optimistic, especially on Switch. Nixxo has the second-best time at 100% on PC with 18h23, bearing in mind that loading times are not the same. You can already add 5 hours of loading time, if not more.

Next, regarding the question about completing the game, everything is in the rules.

"100% Requirements:

• Complete All Quests
• Complete the Collection (All Collection Chests must be opened)
• Collect All Field Guide Pages
• Complete all Merlin Trials
• Collect all of the Demiguise Statues
• Complete all of the in game "Challenges"
• Unlock all Floo Flames
• Buy all Broom Upgrades "

You must record the time in RTA (real time attack)

For breaks, it is: Breaks:

• The runners are allowed an untimed break up to 5 minutes every 2 hours of runtime to get a screen/toilet break etc. You are required to go to the games main menu during the break, the timer gets paused on the load when leaving the game and resumes after loading back into your safe. Once a break has been taken no other untimed break is allowed for the next 2 hours.
• For any run with a total runtime longer than 10h you are additionally allowed to take a longer break for sleep/food etc. The length of the break can not exceed 40% of the total length of the run RTA including the break. (So as a maths example, your run is 18h long with the break. 40% of 18h is 7.2h so your break is not allowed to exceed that amount for the run).
• For any run with a total runtime longer than 20h you are additionally allowed to take 2 longer breaks for sleep/food etc. The length of the breaks can not exceed 40% of the total length of the run RTA including the breaks.
• For any of the breaks taken please let the mods know about them in your run description to make verification easier.

I guess my clarification was on the "Complete the Collection" that is then clarified by speaking just about collection chests. Does the "collection" include everything under the collection on the menu? Or just every collection chest?

You must be at 69/69 and 95/95. If you don't have all the collectibles, it's not valid. Everything must be clear

Thanks for answering all my questions Izlia, again, first timer here. So i see the 100% on everything in that screenshot, but he shows 67/67 enemies and 83/83 appearances, but mine is showing a total of 69 enemies (of which I have 67), then 95 total appearances (of which I have 92). Any idea why those maximum numbers have changed since allineediscake's run?

In my opinion, this is due to the addition of the quest that was unique to the PS5. It has been added to all consoles and PCs. Alinee is possibly playing on an older patch where the quest was not yet available (which is impossible on Switch)

Ok, I figured it out. The Haunted Hogsmeade/Minding Your Own Business side quest is where the final enemies and appearances are. I was thrown off by the category rules which stated that quest isn't required. That solves my problem. Thank you Izlia!
