I don't think this game is particularly suited to speedrunning, and I don't like the idea of creating a casual category for the purpose of lowering the barrier to entry.
I understand why you'd think that, but speed running is something lots of people enjoy that may not have the time to do such a long run to begin with.
The addition of categories will be limited to those in which competition by multiple runners has already occurred or has been adequately tried and studied. This is to ensure fairness.
I have received suggestions for various categories, most of which have not been run. Usually adding a category requires a video of that run. Only Senkotsu came up with a category for Free Rolling to get 500 strawberries and left a video of it. If anyone else runs this category I may be able to add that category.
Unfortunately I've only found this run, but it seems someone did try to get any% running a few years back. Not interested in running it myself but it's something for those interested in something shorter. 500 Free Run Strawberries may be worth looking into for me though...!
