Leaderboard Freeze

The Speedrun.com leaderboard will not open until October 1st. This is to give us all 4 weeks for casual playthroughs, and to allow the mod team to establish an initial ruleset. In the meantime, feel free to use the Silksong channels to discuss skips, glitches and tech and enjoy the game!

Initial Ruleset

During the freeze we will monitor to establish an initial ruleset ahead of submissions starting October 1st. We will monitor for community input, but please keep in mind that this ruleset will inevitably change. If tech is later deemed to be too major for the NMG ruleset, we will not shy away from recategorising and retiming runs as policy early on.

Pre-unfreeze sheet

For recordkeeping reasons (and since we know we can't keep you from doing runs...) we have created a spreadsheet to track runs performed before the Speedrun.com boards are unfrozen. Please keep in mind that runs here are not permanent and we likely will not make the history official, since we don't want to create any incentive to rush your first playthroughs.

Help from you

This is, obviously, the largest undertaking the mod & verifier team have ever faced. We will need help from the community in terms of suggestions, volunteers, autosplitter development, and generally being respectful & not giving us other things to worry about. If you are able to help or have any concerns, feel free to contact us directly on Discord, via Modmail, in the Silksong categories' #src-discussion (once it goes live) via the feedback form or via SRC DMs.
