no matter what i config in the files, it'll always output either "SteamAPI_Init_Internal failed" "Missing interface" or "Failed to initalize authentication interface. Exiting..."

i own hl on steam, it's just not authenticating. i've tried adding WON as a non-steam game, tried forcing it to use half-life's wineprefix, tried running through lutris with both wine and steam set as the runner, tried using steam emulators and tried using both goldsrc package and hl 2005 package. none of it works. i've had to run a non-steam game through steam to get authentication to work before so idk why it's not working here? in another thread it tells me to create a steam_appid.txt, but i already have that in the directory
