Any mods allowed for unseeded / unmodded?

Just as the title suggests, I'm wondering if there are any Quality of Life mods allowed for the unseeded / unmodded category. I still want to play standard RNG, but I'd love it if I could use (for example) a mod that would kill Zag with the press of a button. Thanks, let me know if there are any resources available for this.

I'm afraid that we only allow the Colorblind Mod to be used in unmodded runs (per the Game Rules).

The ability to instantly reset is a defining feature of the Speedrunning Modpack: the improvement to run efficiency is itself a significant change/effect, besides the other quality-of-life RNG changes, such that it wouldn't be fair to add it to Unmodded.

Both the Colorblind Mod and Speedrunning Modpack are available in the Resources tab if you would like to use them.

@Ananke thanks so much for the reply, I appreciate the clarification! I'm still waffling if I want to move to the modded category, but I think for now I'm going to maintain my goals of sub-7 Unmodded, and by extension, top 250 in that category.

@Ananke I went ahead and downloaded the Modpack. I think I get how it works; I see that I can lock in a hammer, and then I get the 4 boons on my first offering in Tartarus, but if I'm able to kill Zag with the push of a button, I'm afraid I don't know how to do that. Is that part of the modpack? Thanks!

There is a notable difference in how mods are handled in speedrunning as opposed to in other places. On the entirety of SRC, like Ananke mentioned, the only mod allowed in unmodded is the colorblind accessibility mod. The only categories on SRC without a modded subcategory is anything FreshFile-related.

In unmodded high heat (not on this website) however, anything that does not affect the run itself is allowed, meaning purely cosmetic mods and the quick-reset mod are allowed there and there exclusively.

In modded high heat (on the sheet again, not SRC), the community decided to allow the First Boon Epic mod.

For hitless / damageless, speedrun.com recognizes the speedrunning modpack as its own category and like all other speedrun leaderboards allows colorblind accessibility, while Team Hitless bans mods outright.

Hope this clears things up!
