The following changes have been made to the San Andreas leaderboard:

• 100% NMG has been added as a separate category
• ASE (Arbitrary Script Execution)/AJS (Arbitrary Jump in Script) is officially banned from all categories except for Any%
• A variable indicating if the in-game Frame Limiter option in the settings menu was kept on during the entire run has been added.

The decision regarding the in-game Frame Limiter distinction was made after a discussion between San Andreas leaderboard moderators for the fairest way to preserve leaderboard history.

With the recent discovery of AJS in the Any% category, it has been decided to (again) split the Any% category between AJS and No AJS.

The only difference between the 2 categories is that AJS is banned in the Any% (No AJS) category.

Due to recent discoveries, the community with the moderation team agreed on changing the timing start for all categories that start on new game.

Now, the timer starts when the initial load screen fully fades out.

The autosplitter has been updated for the new timing start, and timing end for all categories remains without change.

The GTA:SA community has been deteriorating over a long period of time. Many top runners are not currently present on the leaderboard. This issue has not been seriously addressed yet, but an attempt will be made to remedy it now.

As of this news post, the San Andreas leaderboard will function independently of the broader coalition of GTA leaderboards. This change has been made to ensure that the leaderboard adheres to the interests of the runners actually using the leaderboard. The moderation team believes that engaging in a constructive dialogue with community members is the way to make the leaderboard more useful for everyone.

For now this change doesn't mean much, but it does have a few initial implications. From this moment ALL BANS are reversed. This means that no one is banned from submitting their runs to the San Andreas leaderboard. Another post will follow, outlining the new ban policy. Through dialogue with runners, the moderation team is open to additional leaderboard changes and expansions to the group of moderators.

The changes happening to the leaderboard are entirely independent of the GTA Speedrunning discord server. The SA channels in the discord will continue to serve as a place for strat discussion and advice, although everyone is welcome to use the forums for this purpose too.

As of the posting of this message, new rules for the San Andreas leaderboards apply:

• The in-game frame limiter now does NOT have to be on for the duration of the run. Runners are allowed to switch that setting on and off whenever they wish during their runs. • 3rd-party FPS limiters (for ex.: Bandicam or RivaTuner Statistics Server) are now allowed to be used during runs.

After a discussion in the community, the moderators are running a vote to see what the community wants to see the rules to be changed to.

We decided to go with a Google Forms form for increased flexibility on the questions we can ask, along with easier data collection (also Discord and speedrun.com forum votes are kinda janky). You're of course free to express your opinions in Discord as well, and we'll do our best to collect the feedback from here too.
