Hello, fellow speedrunners! Today I have added a new variable, one that should of been added a long time ago. Starting today, All runs with Slendrina will have a separate category on the leaderboard. Since some older runs with Slendrina are put in the wrong category, please message me or montazh if you find any such run, and we will move the run in the correct category.

HELLO AND HAPPY NEW YEAR LOYAL RECAPTURED SPEEDRUNNER!

You guys already know that we recently reverted your speedruns for the game's update (check the last announcement if you don't know). Now I want to say that the problem is solved! All of the runs that has been reverted now will be verified any seconds now and not any old reverted run will get rejected. We've updated the rules and made more (miscellaneous) categories such as Smart mode, Mandess mode, Insanity challenge and... . What are you waiting for? Feel free to submit new runs in the new categories and break record!

Hello loyal Recaptured Speedrunners!

Just wanted to let you guys know that we're reverting every runs past 9th November, Which is the release date of v1.1.5.2. The reason is in v1.1.5.2 a new secret setting were added to the game called "Smart mode" that basically changes the grandparents AI. The problem is that this setting is not visible in the setting menu and it's very hard to detect. So we're won't verify the runs until we come with a new solution. Still some of the runs may get rejected for that but worry not! feel free to submit your speedruns. We will check them after this problem is solved.

Hello Loyal Recaptured Speedrunners!

For some reasons I'm not gonna be very active in verifying people's runs, specially in recaptured, I'm still trying my best but I think having a Verifier to help is a great idea. So if you think you can be a good and worthy Verifier, DM me here or in discord. (We just need one Verifier. Also not eveyone can become a Verifier, I choose them based on how well do I know them)

Hello loyal Recaptured Speedrunners!

You may want to know that we updated one of our rules which only allowed the latest version for the runs. As you might know we recently banned glitched runs from the page, And since glitches are not allowed anymore now you can use any version as you want for your runs!

BUT!

You can NOT play the Frikjumno's bypass version of the Recaptured for your runs. if you ask why it's because that version is developed by another developer and has a menu for cheat or other settings which are the features of "Melon Loader". Most of us (such as me) used to play Frikjumno's version when the original Recaptured was private, but now it's a public mod that you can play it so no need to use Frikjumno's version of the game. So as long as you play the original Recaptured by ButteryStancakes, your runs will be verified! (As long as you listen to the other rules as well of course)

NEW RULE

We're adding a new rule that speedrunners can no longer use glitches in their runs.

Reason: most of the glitches always get fixed in the next update(s), but since older versions are not allowed, players can not use the glitches again because it's fixed and it causes a waist of time for the players who plays the latest version.

if you're asking that why didn't we make a different category for different versions, it's because once you play the latest version you can not play the older versions of the game. and if you're asking that why didn't we make a different category for glitched runs and glitchless runs, it takes too much spaces and it's kinda pointless since there isn't much time difference in them

THE OLD GLITCHED RUNS

all of the current verified runs that contains glitches will be rejected soon, so if you're one of those runners that used glitches in your run(s), you can delete your run(s) before we reject it.

(Edit: Every glitched runs are now removed from the page)

There are some changes in the categories

1. Difficulty option is removed from Game Over% and now it's optional like grandpa and others

2. Grandpa, Grandpa's shotgun and Flashlight are all removed from Unlock Puzzles category because you can submit the same run with the same settings in other categories

3. Not all of the versions are allowed now, you should play in the latest version

4. Slendrina ending is no longer available in the Extreme category, since it's only meant for unlocking puzzles category
