it's been 204 days since 22.80 AJ, back when I was so happy to beat trynera's most insane pace. I've continued to grind any% since then, and I even tied the 22.80 twice. to get a pace pb by 0.57 is way more than the ~0.3 that we usually see, but the real kicker is that today, in just 1 hour and 20 minutes, I learned and thrived in a new screen size, 6.7x5cm instead of 4x3cm, 167% of the size that I've started playing on even before my very first world record on touchscreen, 43.20 on Mar 30, 2025. I am always looking for experiments to conduct in the hopes to disprove the theory that practice is truly everything. I can't say I'm sure, and I don't even think it's likely, but the possibility that a screen size adjustment boosts my skill at no cost brings me joy.

compared to 22.80, I saved 0.3 in the most complex split, SS', from an earlier 1st rail pull, less time lost from bonking for no-tub, and a stronger slide skip; and I saved 0.2 with better pull timings in the simplest split, OH'. complexity (defined as how much room for improvement my techniques have, as opposed to saving time by just doing pulls earlier and nothing else) may or may not be relevant here, just thought it was interesting. the rest of the splits were similar in speed, although my 22.23 includes the new strats of ceiling pull and TAS AJ. I started doing ceiling pull 8 days ago and TAS AJ 46 days ago. both of those strats were first theorized through 10FPS: condensed in January 2026 but present everywhen, I've savestate-grinded new strats to see if they're faster than previous strats, and when they are, I try to PB with them in 10FPS. ceiling pull and TAS AJ both first showed up in my 10FPS PB of 36.77, which also introduced 3-pull tower (primarily instead of as a backup strat), which I started using in any% at the same time as ceiling pull. I'm quite proud of my work in 10FPS, as it is a rigorous way to determine the best strats to use in any% for the long-term.
