I created this topic as I had a spontaneous desire to write a history and chronology of the main events taking place on the src website. If you can share any information, I will be very grateful.

Most of the people active on the forums are newer users of the site. I'd recommend you contact some people in the speedrun.com discord or maybe DM some former site staff to get accounts of what the site was like early on. You can also use the wayback machine to look at archived pages of src

ive been on the site since 2016 (this is not my first account i used to have another one that had no runs on it and 6 years isnt all too long in the end) but i cant really tell you any history of the site as there is nothing really notable in my opinion other than pac selling the site. before that site was basically the same other like some small changes from which the only one i can remember is the font change for the runners names on leaderboards (you can see pictures on some older summoningsalt videos)

There used to be a big thread for handling mod requests. It had its pros and cons.

The only other thing I remember was when content mods were added (I'm not sure it's even a thing anymore). Some content mods pushed sweeping changes to leaderboard rules that got reverted.

That's probably all there is pre elo that I can think of that was relevant.
