How to Setup Your Save File for Runs

Video Guide:
https://youtu.be/ZgUs4c_2hGs

Text Guide:
1) Start a new game. You'll likely want two separate saves, one for NG+ runs and one for NG runs.
2) All assists should be turned off.
3) Play through the prologue as normal.
4) Once you wake up in your room, it's important that you don't grab any items in the room. **Pick up the blue timepiece otherwise you'll be forced to get it when you attempt to leave the room.**
5) Get the RNG code from the metal triangle.
6) Put the code into the suitcase. Don't open the case, don't grab the key.
7) Turn back around and make a save. I recommend using a bottom save slot so you don't overwrite it accidentally.
8****) Now you can go back to the main menu and load the save we just made whenever you start a new run or reset.
9) Start Livesplit when you click your save. Load remover/autosplitter will eventually take care of starting the timer.
10) Good luck, have fun!

I've also added a link to two pre-made save files in the Resources section [here](https://www.speedrun.com/resourceasset/rec5p) if you just want to start running from those saves, which are perfectly prepared for both NG and NG+ in the right spot.
