Autosplitter Guide

In Livesplit, select Edit Splits.

1. Select Final Fantasy XIII for the game.
2. Activate the autosplitter.
3. Select the settings button to edit the settings of the autsplitter.
4. Select which points you want the autosplitter to split for you. Starting and Resetting may also be toggled. The final option toggles the load remover, which will show the time without loads as a Game Time in Livesplit.

Speedrun Guide 2025 (For ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS)

Hello!

I spent a lot of time crafting this speedrun guide for people who have **NEVER speedran this before** and want to learn this as fast as possible. It's based on the World Record Route of 2025 (**with a lot of safety included** which makes this **slower by about 45 minutes**, but it is a much easier way to learn the game). This guide aims to get an end time just below 6 hours on console (*if you want to get below 5 hours, you cannot with this guide!*)

The idea was to create strategies that **ALWAYS** work for all the battles in the game. You can follow the battle commands listed for each boss battle, and you should win at least 90% of the time without any deviation. Some bosses require effort beating consistently like Proudclad 2, and Barthandelus 1 (you need to heal and know the battle mechanics to some extent). The idea is that you can just download a copy of this speedrun guide, and do **ONE** practice playthrough while following the notes. After that one practice playthrough, you should be ready for the real speedrun! It will be almost expected that you get stuck on Proudclad 2. By learning this you will eventually be able to remove the safeties that you no longer need like less shrouds, less weapon upgrades, and less frequent spending of Crystarium Points (*as well as less Deceptisol cancelling*).

**Details about the route**:

- Shroud farming in Chapter 2 is extended to get a total of [**6 Deceptisols**] and [**3 Fortisols**]. This will help in battles where new players will struggle heavily early on in their learning process. All the difficult battles where there is a potential to die will be assisted by either a Deceptisol, Fortisol or an Aegisol.
- More weapon upgrades than the WR route (which means more stats for the characters used throughout the speedrun). Blazefire Saber (LV 19), Wild Bear (LV 25), Vega 42s (MAX). That in turn makes all the battles easier throughout at the cost of grabbing a few extra chests.
- More frequent Crystarium distributions throughout the run to get a few extra stats here and there to make bosses easier! Also spending Crystarium points on less important characters like Hope and Fang (while they are still used in some battles to help with Protoflorian, Ushumgai, Kalavinka Striker, and Eidolon battles).
- 3 extra Behemoth fights in Gran Pulse to get more Crystarium Points to use, and also to get more stats earlier.
- Belladonna Wand is bought in Tae'jin's Tower before Vetala while doing the big shopping while still upgrading all the Warrior's Wristbands. Belladonna Wand is also upgraded to (MAX) at this point (to later become Marlboro Wand).
- Grabbing the Champion's Badge in Eden (*2x Fortisol, 2x Aegisol, and 1x Deceptisol*).
- Belladonna Wand is upgraded to Marlboro Wand (before Proudclad 2 by buying an Uraninite) to have a 40% increased chance at debuffing bosses for the rest of the game (not effective on Proudclad 2, but still upgraded due to shopping). This will in turn make the rest of the battles more reliable.
- Sazh has Sentinel role for Proudclad 2 to be able to tank the incoming damage in case battle goes wrong. Also routed to use a Librascope instead of Libra so that there is room for a Renew AND Summon during the fight.
- **Fortisols** are used: Anima, Aster Protoflorian, Enki & Enlil, Havoc Skytank, Alexander, Barthandelus 2, Proudclad 1, Proudclad 2, Bandersnatch & Jabberwocky, Wladislaus, Tiamat Eliminator, Final Bosses.
- **Aegisols** are used: (*EXTRA*) Barthandelus, (*EXTRA*) Hecatoncheir, Dahaka, Barthandelus 2, Proudclad 2, Bandersnatch & Jabberwocky, Wladislaus, Tiamat Eliminator, Final Bosses
- **Deceptisols** are used: Second Bridge Battle, Mushussu, Vetala, Penanggalan, and Bulwarker.
- Fight tracker for battles of the **fastest time I have seen** as well as occassional **SUB 6 tracking**.

**I estimate that all the extras that I am doing is about ~45 minutes slower than the WR route**, but it increases the odds of it being a deathless run by insane margins - which indirectly could save you time by avoiding death. Safety and ease is of utmost importance. **I expect you to be ready to speedrun after 10**-**20 hours of practice while following these notes!**

This guide is aimed at those who are happy with a time below 6 hours, and want to reach it as easily as possible. If your goal is to become a top tier runner, then please follow one of the other guides!
