Hello together, i am practicing currently the any% of Elex. But i got some problems at the Route from the snow Mountains to the end. I cant See anything because of the freeze snow Effect and because of that i cant really practice the Route. Has Someone a Tip for me how to Turn that Off? Because at the World Record there is No Effect Like this when he got the Damage Ice Effect.

There used to be a thread about this but I don't know if the previous mod deleted it or something like that.

I think the consensus was that it is pretty random what the weather is like at the end of the run. Like, there is a certain randomness to the weather and sometimes it's good and sometimes it's bad. That's how it was for me anyways.

There is nothing you can do about it since everything would be against the game/category rules we decided on at some point. For example, waiting some time after the intro cut scene and starting the timer late, or using external tools/mods.

One thing you could try is: If you think you get the 'snowstorm' a lot of times, create a new save file that you use for your runs to create a new 'seed' for the weather. I'm not sure if this works though.

There is a mod, which you can just delete the fog of the game, which i think is a really good thing to use for the runs, because the visibility is really bad and also its very annoying to have random weather conditions. Would it be allowed?https://www.nexusmods.com/elex/mods/3?tab=description

True. Usually mods are not allowed because it should be run the way it is, even if it has annoying rng.

Personally I think using this mod would be fine. But I think we should wait a few days to give other runners an opportunity to weigh in on this discussion.

What would be really nice is when there is a discord speedrun Server for Elex Like in gothic and Risen to discuss stuff Like this or when someone has a question.

We could do that. I think the community is almost too small to make a separate discord for it, but if we could just get a channel in the gothic speedrunning community would be great. Do you know anyone in there? (or i guess we just make our own...)

@Cohri Thank you man, havent seen this post :D I would reccomend to you to just open an own DC Server because i think for a Server you need many Channels. But i dunno if its possible that you also get a channel at the Gothic Speedrun Server, you need to ask the Admin "Saradoc" for it.

@Radgryd Hello there, when you are interested you can write me for help if you want. I can also recommend you the Trilogy of Gothic Speedrun so Gothic 1, Gothic 2 and Gothic 3 because these runs are also very nice. But again if you need help or have a question just write me here or DC.

@CrazyDoGaming I'm already on the Gothic speedrun server :) But I think a specific server for Elex would be better.
