Tips and 'routing'

It may seem kind of dumb to route a game where all you have to do is fall, but I'm going to do it anyways.

ROUTE:
PLAY BOULDER
FALL
DODGE AS MANY PLATFORMS AND ENEMIES AS POSSIBLE
MAKE IT TO THE END OF THE LEVEL ASAP
CHOOSE UPGRADE (Don't take gem attraction unless you have gems refill gunboots)
REPEAT
DO NOT GO INTO SHOPS
YOU MAY ENTER ITEM ROOMS OR GET COMBOS FOR HP AND CHARGE (Only if you need to)
REPEAT
BOSS FLOOR
GO INTO SHOP/ITEM ROOM ON THE RIGHT
GET WHAT YOU NEED
BREAK BLOCKS TO BOSS, BREAK BLOCKS ON BOTH SIDES
ATTACK BOSS, PICK UP WEAPONS FOR CHARGE AND HP
WIN

TIPS:
Shoot once and strafe sideways to move laterally without touching the ground. Boulder can touch the ground once and bounce off, but do not do this too often as it will end up slowing you down. Don't go overkill on the gunboots, but be careful or else you will die. If you feel unsafe making a jump, be prepared to shoot something that might be in your way.

Play on a theme that doesn't make everything a solid color. Also, choose something with lots of contrast. I prefer the default theme because red on black and white just makes sense to me.

HOW TO GET GOOD:
Watch runs, practice, play on hard mode, practice combos. Just play the game. Maybe if someone makes a mod to make the game have uncapped FPS you can run the game really fast and get good practice, so when you put it to normal it won't feel as hectic.
