I could use some help. I've followed all the steps, and the game does launch in its unpatched state, but has massive issues with loading saves. Part of the problem is that I just upgraded from an Intel CPU to an AMD CPU. Previously I could run the game with no problems on the Intel CPU just by copying in the unpached files, but on the AMD CPU the game wouldn't even launch, and every fix for this just seems to introduce more problems.

The method in your video is the closest to working, but everything falls apart if I load a save for any reason. Both Steam and GOG versions are behaving in the same way.

Small update: still haven't figured out a fix for the 1.1.1.5879 patch version, but when I use the c1-launcher with the files from my old physical copy of the game (which is on patch 1.1.1.5767) it works perfectly.

Obviously this is not a solution for anyone who only has access to Steam/GOG/Origin copies of the game. However, if anyone knows of a way to make patch version 1.1.1.5767 available for anyone else who may be trying to run the Unpatched category, feel free to get in touch and let me know what files you may need.

Downsides to running on this patch:

1: Load remover doesn't work.

2: Prophet is a terrible driver on Exodus and insists on crashing the jeep just before the last bridge it needs to cross, which loses a lot of time. (Edit: this can be fixed by capping FPS with external software, he drives like he's supposed to on 144fps.)

This guide is a bit outdated and I've been meaning to work on a new one for a while now. The new guide would involve practically the same steps and it'd be a way shorter video.

According to some user from the comment section, they had to use compatibility mode and Windows XP to sort out the black screen loading issue, respectively not being alive after loading a save made in-game. I personally haven't tried this, but it should work in theory. As for the load remover, it probably works if you open Livesplit as admin or something. I am not a runner of the game, wanted to learn this at some point but lost motivation lol. Who knows, maybe down the line in the near future I might give it a try. Hope those solutions help out!

I think it might also be helpful for you to make a drive with the files included in your physical copy of the game, maybe something from there might help. :)
