my first speedrun ever! and if i'm not wrong, it's a world record! yay for games with like 1 or 2 runs! i hope i timed it right.

in any case: it's not perfect by any means, but i managed to save time on the only existing run by figuring out rooms i could just straight up avoid. i think doing that is what saved me the most time. of course i took a bunch of (unplanned) damage in some areas, in the third mission i mistakenly entered the wrong room Twice, i almost forgot to go into the first room in the second mission and just straight up botched the boss fight for it but! hey! if anyone else wants to run this game, maybe it'll get me a bit competitive knowing there's so much time to be saved?! who knows!!!!!

i ran it on RetroArch Beetle PCE, if that matters. and used my trusty nintendo switch controller for it.

chose city hunter for my first speedrun ever because it's the best and somehow also most obscure manga ever made. it's everything to me and i'm glad it at least has one (1) game so i get to honor my favorite manga ever while completing a longtime wish of mine (doing a speedrun).

my most sincere gratitude goes to sm_izumi, the only person to have ever ran this game for the website. and also apparently the moderator, so here's a message for you: your run saved me massive amounts of time you have no idea. french people unite in their appreciation of city hunter!
