Summary of Proposal:
Please add the “Platform (Web/PC · App)” variable to the existing categories.
Reason:
Fundamental differences in usability: The app version supports multi-tap, resulting in a completely different click efficiency compared to the mouse-based PC version.
Differences in supported devices: The game can be played not only on PCs but also on smartphones (Android).
Structural differences in UI: The app version requires a screen transition every time a purchase is made or statistics are viewed, making it impossible to compare times with the PC version.
Existing rules cannot be applied: Under current rules, the statistics screen must be displayed for most of the run, but this is impossible on the app. Therefore, measures such as displaying statistics once per minute must be implemented.
Specification discrepancies: Since the conditions for unlocking achievements and the way notifications appear upon unlocking differ from the PC version, the same rules cannot be applied.
Ensuring fairness: “Launching multiple browser instances,” as is possible on the PC version, is impossible on the app.
Regarding finish line criteria, rules that are impossible to implement in the app can be made possible by creating new ones, thereby enabling gameplay.
For these reasons, we believe it is necessary to add a “Platform (Web/PC & App)” category to enable play on the app and ensure fair competition by establishing it as a separate category. Furthermore, we believe that creating a space where app users can compete independently will further revitalize the community.
Regarding the distinction between "Left click" and "Fast click," I intend to use "Left click" even when using multiple fingers, and "Fast click" for playing with keyboards or multiple mice. Also, when running on a PC, resizing the app makes the cookies larger, making them easier to click and allowing for faster clicking, so I intend to classify this action as a "Fast click."
While the statistics screen needs to be displayed for most of the run, I will either display it every 1-2 minutes or at the breaks between each event.
The start rule remains the same, but when an achievement is unlocked in the app, the achievement will appear on the screen from the bottom, gradually darkening in color. Therefore, the end criterion will be the moment the statistics screen appears and the unlocked achievement is confirmed.
SRC has come up with an IRL section. All IRL cooking backing speedruns will commence there moving forward. Please follow the boards if you're interested in IRL cookie backing speedruns.
