Voiceline Skip in Bully: Scholarship Edition
Hey everyone,
I recently discovered a new glitch in Bully: Scholarship Edition that disables all in-game voicelines when starting a new game. This has some potentially major implications for speeding up dialogue-heavy missions like:
"This is Your School" (the intro tour)
"The Candidate" (Earnest's speech)
And possibly others that rely heavily on voicelines to progress
What the Glitch Does
When performed, this glitch removes all character voice lines in the game. Cutscenes will still play normally with the voice lines, but no audio dialogue will trigger [For example: taunts]. This allows you to bypass long waits during missions that are gated by voiceline timing.
How to Perform the Glitch
You’ll need a save file in the Beach House and access to the 3D Racer arcade game.
-
Load a save at the Beach House
-
Enter the game
-
While in the game, open your speedrun save
That’s it — the new game will now start with voicelines completely disabled.
Speedrun Impact
This has already shown promise for missions like:
"This is Your School" — drastically reduced wait time between steps
"The Candidate" — Earnest’s long speech completely skips as the mission relies completely on voicelines, allowing faster progression
Potential impact on Any%, NG+, and possibly 100% (depending on required interactions)
More testing is needed, but this could open up new routing potential for early game and cutscene-heavy sections.
Notes & Limitations
Currently tested on Windows 10 through Rockstar launcher
Voicelines remain disabled until the game is restarted
Music and sound effects are not affected
Glitch requires access to a Beach House save — not possible from a fresh install unless prepped beforehand
Ongoing Testing
Would love some help confirming:
Does this work on other platforms (Wii, Xbox One, Wii-U, older windows models, etc.)?
Does it break any missions or softlock the game later?
Does it affect class tutorials or side missions with required audio cues?
Let me know what you all think — happy to share a video or walkthrough if anyone wants to replicate/test further. If this proves useful, maybe it can be added to the Glitchless Rules/Exceptions or noted for specific categories.
yes, there are already runs with this discovery and they have separated them into a DDM and No DDM sub category (DDM = Dialogue Disabling Manipulation)
