This guide is aimed for beginner runners in a playlist going through every single level. The main focus is Original Release but can also be used for Platinum Hits (Mostly). 

Guide to Installing the Blinx Speedrunning IGT Mod

You will need a copy of the Blinx: TTS xbe file

This xbe file must be Original Release NTSC or Platinum Hits NTSC

You'll need the required BPS file to patch your game, they must match with their xbe (Platinum Hits xbe wont patch with Original Release patch file and vice versa)

This patch currently works for Original Xbox, XEMU, and Cxbx

How to patch your xbe

Download the BPS file you need from the Resources Tab, make sure its the correct one. 

Head over to https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ to patch your xbe.

Place your xbe in the "ROM file:" box, then place your BPS file in the "Patch file:" box.

Once both files are placed, click "Force calculate checksum" and apply patch.

Save the new patched xbe file. 

How to install on Emulator 

At this current moment XEMU is the only Xbox Emulator we're allowing on the leaderboards. Once Cxbx is more stable with Blinx, we will reassess the decision to possibly make it legal in the future. XEMU:

Xemu uses an ISO format to read games, so we need to repackage an ISO with the patched xbe. If you have a Blinx ISO that already works with XEMU then you can extract its files using c-xbox tool. Once it's extracted you'll have a media folder and an xbe named default.xbe. Replace the default.xbe with the new patched xbe. Make sure to rename the new patched xbe to "default.xbe." Have the media folder and the new patched xbe in the same folder and go into c-xbox tool to create that folder into an ISO. Once thats done you can now launch it in XEMU by finding the ISO where you saved it.

Cxbx:

Cxbx reads straight xbe files so you won't need to repackage any ISOs. If you need to extract Blinx from an ISO then download c-xbox tool https://drive.google.com/file/d/138rtSABb6gO_Z3vFjmjTTJwxuGO-TdwC/view?usp=sharing. Make sure you have your extracted Blinx files in the same folder. Then you can place your patched xbe in the same folder as the extracted files. You can launch the IGT mod in Cxbx by just finding the specific xbe in the program.

How to install on Original Xbox

Original Xbox needs to be Soft/Hard modded

You'll need to be able to transfer the files to your Xbox. The best method is through FileZila FTP to your Xbox from your PC

Establish a connection to your Xbox, this can be achieved by plugging your Xbox into your router with an ethernet cable and connecting through the DCHP method. Or you can plug your Xbox into your PC with an ethernet cable and do the Static IP method.

DCHP METHOD: Once your Xbox is connected to your router, turn on your Xbox and look for an IP address. This IP address should appear on the main dashboard of the Xbox or in System > Settings > Network > Current IP (e.g. IP: 192.168.40.8 - this is just an example, your IP address will most likely be different but similar.)

Open up FileZilla and you will see 4 boxes labeled Host, Username, Password, Port. Fill out the boxes like this:

Host: IP ADDRESS FOUND ON XBOX

Username: xbox

Password: xbox

Port: 21

Click "Quickconnect" to connect to your Xbox

SKIP STATIC IP METHOD IF YOU'RE ALREADY CONNECTED TO YOUR XBOX ON FILEZILLA WITH DCHP

STATIC IP METHOD: Connect your Xbox to your PC with an ethernet cable and then head over to "Network and Sharing Centre."

Click "Change adapter settings" and then right click your Ethernet connetion and go into properties.

In the Networking tab in Ethernet properties, click on "Internet Protocol Version 4" and click on properties again. Check the circle that says "Use the following IP address" and fill out the boxes like this

IP address: 192.168.0.1

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Default gateway: LEAVE BLANK

Click OK and close all the Network setting windows.

Turn on your Xbox and navigate to System > Settings > Network. Make sure to change your type of connection from DCHP to Static by pressing A. Fill out your settings like this:

IP Address: 192.168.0.2

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: LEAVE BLANK FOR NOW, IF YOU CAN'T CONNECT THROUGH FILEZILLA LATER ON THEN MAKE THE GATEWAY "192.168.0.1"

Reset your Xbox and check to see if your IP address saved in Network or on the main dashboard. Open up FileZilla on your PC and you will see 4 boxes labeled Host, Username, Password, Port. Fill out the boxes like this:

Host: 192.168.0.2

Username: xbox

Password: xbox

Port: 21

Click "Quickconnect" to connect to your Xbox (IF YOU CAN'T CONNECT TO YOUR XBOX, GO BACK TO SYSTEM > SETTINGS > NETWORK AND CHANGE GATEWAY TO 192.168.0.1 AND TRY AGAIN)

Once connected to your Xbox by DCHP or Static IP, navigate to your games folder through FileZilla. The games folder by default is in the E: Partition through the directory: E/Games. Find your Blinx folder and then paste your patched xbe in there. (It's a good idea to rename the patched xbe so its easier to find in the Xbox's File Explorer)

You can now go ahead and launch the IGT mod by navigating to System > File Explorer > E > Games > Blinx > pressing A on the patched xbe.
